1. Introduction

PatchBox is a tool that allows you to extract video from within any FreeFrame

complient software package and stream it to another machine running PatchBox

and any other FreeFrame software.

2. Basic usage

You need to run the PatchBox application at all times when you want to stream

video. The plugins will not work if it isn't running.

- On machine 1, start PatchBox, start your FreeFrame software

- Select the pbVideoSend.dll plugin and enable the 'Send Data' variable

- You should now see the video in the PatchBox parameters window

- On machine 2, start PatchBox, start your FreeFrame software

- Select the pbVideoReceive.dll plugin and enable the 'Receive Data' variable

- You should now also see the video in the PatchBox parameters window

Now you have both machines running, it's time to stream!

- On machine 1, select the video in the PatchBox parameters window

- Click on Transmit...

- Enter Machine 2's name and port number (9000 is the default)

- Leave the Remote Param setting as is (it has to match the name on Machine

2, which it does)

- Select the video codec you want to use

- Enter the number of frames per second (approx) you want to stream

- Click Ok

If everything went ok you can now see the data being transmitted from one machine

to the other. If it didn't work, PatchBox generates a log file in the directory

it's run from which may help you solve the problem.
